On Friday,
the BC Court of Appeal upheld the BC Supreme Court decision to deny women ski jumpers the right to be
included in the 2010 Winter Olympics Games to be held in Vancouver. It seems that none really qualified based on
IOC's standards. Something deep inside me says this is the wrong thing
to happen in Canada, a country that prides itself when it comes to
fighting discrimination. American ski jumper Lindsay Van said:
OUCH!! Maybe a little over the top but then VANOC CEO John Furlong stuck his foot in his mouth when he said:"The Canadian court system is weak," Van added. "They can't even stand up to the IOC. [The IOC] can come in here and do whatever they want. That's scary. It's like the Taliban of the Olympics."
OUCH!! again. John-they're women not girls. It's men's and women's ski jumping, not boy's and girl's-oh wait maybe it's men's and girl's. Ahhh, now I understand why they can't compete."These girls have tried very hard, they have put up a very good fight."
Keep'em coming VANOC.
