On the heels of yesterday's post about the new born deer walking right after birth, it appears that Mommy Pandas carry their children around for the first few months.

New born deer eats first meal and takes first steps

We found this new born deer in the boulevard of our cul-de-sac in Nanaimo where its Mom had left it shortly after it was born.  It didn't seem to be doing too well but we no one touched it and Mom returned a few hours later and that's when our neighbour shot this video.  This makes about 6 fawns which have born around here this spring-summer.  We see several deer walking around every day which is kind of nice except when they eat the plants.
