No wonder no one takes either of the Koreas seriously anymore.  In response to the North Korean sinking of a military ship in which 46 crew died, S Korea has decided to blast music at N Korea through the demilitarized zone.  Oh well, I guess it's better than war.

3 guys who need to man up

If you are a man then you understand what "man up" means.  I think many women also understand this idiom.  If I was one of these 3 guys, I'd want to  man up, regardless of the outcome.  Apparently, they don't.  For chissakes if Letterman can do it, so can these guys.  Actually, Mahmoud is just a whack job so he can't, but what's up with the other two?  Man up you sissies!

Watching #IranElection posts on Twitter is Overwhelming

A lot of people have questioned the value of Twitter, me included. But as I sit here watching over 100 posts a minute to the #IranElection channel, I know I am watching a watershed in history on many different levels.  Just the fact that the Iranian government is blaming Canada, the U.S., Facebook, Twitter, YouTube etc etc for their problems tells you the incredible impact that Social Networking can have.  There is no way the Iranian government can squash this protest.  Well there is, but let's hope it never comes to that.  Amazing times!!

Brats whining about boomers

Look at some of the articles below written by people who are probably children of boomers who probably paid for their kid's education so that they could learn how to be witty enough to bitch about the boomer generation and therefore their parents.  Any boomer I know never disrespected the previous generation  but I guess the whiners need a target to blame for their perceived woes.  Fortunately, they are in the minority as most gen x and gen y seem to understand that whining never solved anything.

You would think that most of them would have learned to do at least a little research and understand that boomers are classified as people born between 1946 and 1964, and not call President Obama a Gen-Xer and not call his mother, who was born in 1942, a boomer.  Yeah, the rest of their research and facts pretty much follow in that same vein.

I live in Richmond, the area of Vancouver's Lower Mainland where approximately 50% of the population was either born in China or is of Chinese descent.  Today is Chinese or Lunar New Year so to my Chinese friends I say 農曆新年.  This is the year of the Ox which is appropriate because you are going to have to be as strong as one to get through 2009.  Boomer ox years of birth are 1949 and 1961.  If you want to find out which animal your year of birth represents on the lunar calendar, click here.
