Watching the Olympics in Canada is like watching a Road Runner cartoon. You just know Wylie Coyote (Canada) for one reason or another is not going to win but you keep hoping.
Just when you thought they had done the impossible and won the bronze, really the only medal up for grabs behind the Jamaican and US machines in the men's 4x100 relay, the Canadian team was disqualified when the replay showed that the 3rd runner, Jared Connaughton had stepped on the lane line. But he wasn't the only Canadian screw-up when you consider triathlete Simon Whitfield crashing his bike because of a speed bump he knew was there, and several totally sub par performances from several Canadians who were favoured to medal.
On the "screwed" side was Canadian boxer Custio Clayton, the women's synchro team, equestrian competitor Tiffany Foster and of course the Canadian women's soccer team.
Really, the only Canadian competitor who truly won anything ie a gold medal was Rosie MacLennan. Way to go Rosie. I guess Wylie can win the odd one.
