Just ban it already!! Calling for another study on whether or not using a phone while driving is dangerous is like having another study to research whether or not smoking is bad for your health.
I watched in exasperation recently as a driver sat in the middle of an intersection waiting to make a left turn 5 seconds after his light had turned right. He was completely oblivious to everything as he yapped away on his hand-held. Finally, a cement truck's air horn brought him back to his situation on the road.
At least it's a step in the right direction though and I hope that other Canadian provinces (Quebec and Nova Scotia have now banned hand-helds while driving) wake up to the fact that driving and using a cell phone is akin to driving impaired.

I am astounded that folks don't understand that they are a hazard and continue to drive distractedly. On my way to work I see more than occasionally, folks pulling out of their driveways making a righthand turn with their cell stuck to their left ear so they don't even bother to look left at oncoming traffic! California has a "no hand held" law going into effect on July 1st. Has Quebec or Nova Scotia noticed any difference? Has this been effective?

A waste of time and money to have *ANOTHER* study.
I sometimes feel as if I spend my days saying "Hello Wall!"
Hopefully *this* study will be the last.

Canadians love studies. It allows them to pretend to be productive without actually making a decision.
