EONS throws in the towel on boomers

According to TechCrunch, Eons has lowered its membership age to 13.  I'll take their word for it because their server is down as I write this.  Jeff Taylor who started Monster is behind EONS.  Now it looks as though he is 1 for 2 because I just can't see them hanging on in this space (no pun intended.)

They have had a sickening drop in their traffic over the past few months, cut back staff, and their $32 million initial investment is probably close to being gone.  I doubt that the younger set is going to rush to join another social networking site that is populated by the over 50 set.  So It looks as though their days are numbered because I just can't see this strategy change stopping the bleeding.

You can see my earlier post about the history of their decline here.

Excellent analysis from the very beginning. Too much hubris to just shut the site down when traffic plunged, I guess. Wow.
