Happy Thanksgiving if you're a Canadian

Today, being the 2nd Monday in October is Thanksgiving day in Canada. It is very similar to US Thanksgiving in that it is usually a time for friends and families to get together and celebrate with a turkey or ham dinner. It seems that Thanksgiving is the biggest holiday season of the year in the US but Christmas takes that title in Canada as most Canadians take a whole week off then.
The first Canadian Thanksgiving was held in 1578 and eventually was declared a national holiday held in early November. However that was changed to the October date in the 1950s when Remembrance Day was declared a national holiday on November 11.
No matter when you celebrate this festive occasion, I hope you have lots to give thanks for and if you do, share some of it with those who don't.
